A midday wedding or an evening wedding?
Our garden has two sessions a day, midday and evening. When we talk about dates, the question we're asked most is which one is better. There's no single answer, but looking at a few things makes the decision easier.
Light
At midday, daylight shows everything as it is. Because we're under the trees, the light comes through the leaves and the sun doesn't shine straight into people's faces.
The evening is different. The sun sets late in summer, so the start of the evening session is in daylight and the rest is under string lights. In Izmir the sun sets after 8.30pm in June, around 7.40pm in early September and close to 7pm in early October. If you'd like the bridal entrance to coincide with sunset, we'll work out the timing together.
Heat
It has to be said that in July and August the midday hours are hot. The shade of the trees helps a lot, but it's still a good idea to mention the heat on the invitation. In the evening it cools down. May and October evenings can be cooler than you expect, so a light cardigan comes in handy.
Guests
If you have a lot of elderly relatives and small children, midday is usually more comfortable, as nobody has to set off home at midnight. If most of your guests are young and coming to dance, the evening has the edge.
If guests are coming from far away, think about the journey home too. After a midday wedding everyone gets home in daylight. At an evening wedding, anyone coming on the İZBAN commuter train needs to keep an eye on the last train, and for a large group hiring a shuttle bus is easier.
Whichever you choose, there won't be any other event in the garden during your session. To ask about availability for either session, call +90 554 130 01 99 or message us on WhatsApp.
